LIGHT

Sensors under this category are sensors which are reactive to any 'changes' of light that strike or incident to the device surface.

Generically they are all termed as photocells.

These sensors can further be classified as passive or active photocells.

Passive photocells are those that changes its electrical attributes to 'change' in light incident to it.
To this class includes Light Dependent Resistors (LDR) cadmium or silinium sulfide, IR Detectors, and phototransistors.

Active photocells are those that generates or gives out electrical energy when light energy strike its surface.

Generally they are called as photovoltaic cells.
Solar panels falls under this category.
